one as two

it was a rare sighting

felt as if we struck gold

on just a lost trail

so fantastic

hard to miss

screaming awe

to me

among all

two of them called out

buttressed roots

meeting the ground beneath

one beside the other

"dont plant trees so close, especially the same kind"

they seemed like twins

as tall as broad

yet unique in their own stride

they chose to hold hands

you see

never did i see, so a first for me

the roots of one

colliding into the other

{no resistance, no signs of strife}

as if there isn't even

the slightest sense of disparity in between

just, one

and another

like tributaries

pouring into

mother river

they flow into one another

creating new paths

one as two

two as one

whose who

whose who
